After A manual ICS Flash, How will the rest be?

MY question is to know how the next updates will be made if i manually flash the 4.0.4 ICS in my Ray, will I still be normally notified for updates or will i have to undergo different processes???

it will be the same but if you are locked to a network the network/carrier's icons will be gone
