Hi,
i dont know of anyone ever needing drivers just to connect a pc or a laptop to an external display, usually when you connect using, say, a dvi cable you then change the input on the sony to pc and your desktop should be there, cant vouch for hdmi connection as i dont have one on the lappy. the only other thing is the screen may not be full size, i just right click and select full screen and thats it.
works great watching movies through media player.
