Sony has recently launched support for the PlayStation3 to support Channel 4's 4 onDemand (4oD). I've recently purchased a Sony Media Player (SMP-N100). Now if any device of Sony's should be adding support for Internet TV, it is this!
Where is the update for the SMP-N100 so we can get 4oD? Is it coming soon?
I imagine that Blu-Ray Player owners (BDP-S370/S470) and Sony Bravia Internet TV owners are wondering the same thing! Surely we should all get the updates that PS3 owners are enjoying?

Thanks!
yeah, come on sony!! pull your finger out on this one. it's odd that PS3 users have this, and later hardware purchasers of the SMP don't have it yet. surely it should be across the board.

(ps, don't worry about the ITV player, thanks)
I wouldn't believe everything you read on forums......
indeed. so, being a positive kind of person, i'm wondering if your reply is suggesting an earlier release...?
Catmambo (Eduzzel?)
You were very tight lipped over BBC IPlayer coming to Bravia. Will 4oD (and ITV Player) becoming to Bravia and Blu-Ray? Sky news is a pointless exercise (in my opinion!) and this came first!
Services launches come down to the commerical conditions between Sony and the partners. Simply some services are quicker to launch than others.
At the moment we have no news on any other partners to share I'm afraid.
Thanks
Thanks for the response. I don't know if it's a 'forum rumor' about 4oD and ITV Players coming to PS3, as it's being reported by a lot of news websites.
At any rate, it goes without saying that there's a lot of interest to see these players added to the Sony Bravia TVs, Blu-Ray Players, and Media Players (SMP-N100). I hope it will come soon! (*cracks whip at Sony and partners*)
Yes I can see that you have to negotiate with the partners but surely if Sony have negotiated with Channel 4 to broadcast to PS3 over internet then you cover the service for Bravia at the same time? The function of Bravia Internet is to deliver programming to your home viewers, the PS3 user is primarily a gamer and any viewing tends to be a secondary function so why isn't delivering the TV on Demand to Bravia users given priority?
I'd also be interested to know the take up on your new pay video and music services - I can't see the commercial sense in these.
Thanks
Same question for the BDP-S370 ....
Had an internet update last night and had fingers crossed for 4od. Unfortunately Billabong Channel appeared ?!
