Hi There
Just bought the Sony SVR-HDT500 and found it to be great but just one gripe.
I did an update using the Over Aid Download and took about 20 mins and worked fine.
I noticed that now the machines takes ages to boot up and turn off. Usually about 30 secs for off and on. I think that when i first got it (before the update) that it turned on and off within a couple of seconds.
Also when i turn it on there is a white flashing line at the middle of the box and after about 20 secs it tries to goto 576i and then says "not compatible with this signal" then changes to 1080i and comes on which is really anoying and i think should not happen. The setting for HDMI is Auto.
Have done a Factory Reset and repair on the Hard drive without changing the boot up time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Keith
Hi Keith,
This is the latest version of firmware for your recorder - check that you have this version installed: -

Thanks for the reply Blencogo.
I have looked and that was the update that i did shorty after getting the machine and it took about 20 mins using the "Air Download" and the latest is 8585 on mine after the update.
