My name is James Sidney, I am having problems with the above recorder. We have 2 Sony TV's and the above DVD Recorder. I swapped over the TV's & the recorder is now hooked up to a 3D Sony TV Ref - KDL40HX803U. Prior to hooking up the TV to the recorder the recorder worked fine!! I set up the TV & Now the recorder switches on & you can play previously recorded programs, however the program list won't appear on the screen! So we cannot record any programs at the moment. We have phoned Sony and I am reallydisappointed with their service so much to say that we always buy Sony but now are thinking of in future using another manufacturer! We have spent about £10's in phone calls to Sony to people who clearly struggle with the English Language!!! We are still in limbo as we speak!!! We have tried 're initial setting up the DVDR still no joy, was told to wait 24 hours and the program guide should appear. No joy, did that again with another guy no joy. Then they said try software updating the DVDR - The DVDR won't software update! However I don't see how this would affect the program guide would be affected by a software update?!?!? Eventually it has got to the stage where they've said there is a fault with the DVDR, I don't see how this can be the case when it worked previously and now it doesn't and I don't see how a software update will affect the program guide on the DVDR. All Sony Customer Services Seemed to be interested in was how theor customer services were, it's no good if they haven't answered my queries?!?!? So not very happy!! They have given me Chumber of Birmingham Specialised Services who charges a call out Fee of £60's and if it needs to be repaired then they will take the £60's from the bill. Is there anybody out there that could give me any advice as to how resolve this issue?!?!? Or how to proceed further in resolving this issue?!?!? I don't particularly want to phone Sony again as there calls are expensive & their customer service is poor. Whilst I was trying to update the DVDR the guy from Sony said he would call me back & he never did. Frustrating to say the least. Any help & advice would be appreciated!!!!
