Having a bit of a problem with my brand new Sony BDP-S390 with no display and no sound.
Got it out of the box, plugged it in and was going through all of the setup and got to the bit where one needs to set up the wireless and the screen just cut out.
I have tried restarting the box but to no avail, I get to the startup blu-ray screen and that looks ok but then it just drops out. I have tried putting in a blu-ray disk and hitting play but there's still nothing.
It could be the resolution but I have no way of resetting it, I have tried hitting the stop button three times as indicated in the manual to reset it to the lowest resolution but that doesn't help at all.
Is there a factory reset I can do from the handset...?
Or does anyone else have an interesting tidbits?
Hi
Have you tried swapping around the HDMI cable and the HDMI socket to which you are connecting the S390. Assuming you are using an HDMI cable? Factory reset you would need to do from onscreen I think as opposed to a code from the remote.
Have you another TV to try it on also as need to try and figure out where the issue is ( Blu-ray player, cable or TV.) Likely the Blu-ray or cable, but need to try and isolate it.
cheers
