Saving TV feeds to memory stick

Hi,

I am looking to invest in a blu ray player / hdd recorder with internet access for iplayer etc.

However, one on the key things that I want the machine to do is record a tv signal or the output from a sky box as an avi or mp4 that can then be copied to a memory stick.

I am aware that I could do this with a computer and a capture card, but this is a lot of work and I am trying to simplify the task. 

does anyone know if any of the machines do this?

Hi

Its generally a lot of work because you would be circumventing many of the anti piracy technologies that Sky etc put in place to stop content being distributed without authorisation. Its probably getting harder and harder to breakout content from devices now.
