S370 External HDD problems

I have an S370 and recently purchased a WD Elements 2TB external hard drive. I formatted it to FAT32 as I want to use the drive as a backup for my PC but also to play video from. I've copied over all my folders, however when I go to my movie folder in the S370 it states that the folder is empty. It definitely isn't. My 40ex403 recognises the drive and folder and plays the videos it can, but the S370 just says the folder is empty. Any ideas?

If the 370 has a usb on the back of the player try that and not the front one.

I remember one of the posts on another forum, cant remember which player it was for, but some hd need more power and the rear usb had more power than the front. Do these same movie play ok via dnla ?

Thanks. I'll give the back USB a shot but the HDD does have it's own power supply.

Movies play fine over DNLA with Serviio, yes
