We have a BDP-S370 blu ray player and over the week or so have noticed that about the 1 hour 15 minutes mark the disc stops and then starts again. This has become more and more noticable. It happens on both original and homemade discs in dvd format.
Any help is appreciated
Cheers
Hello highlander317,
As explained before, i still consist that your blu ray have hardware problem (Laser Carrier mechanism stuck or laser beam bias gain need adjustment)...the problem occurs at 1hr 15 min on dvd (almost near the edge of dvd disc), this area the tracks have more vertical movement (due to normal disc runout), the laser beam width and gain control should be correctly aligned to follow the runout.
Anyway, you as a customer are not involved to analize or fix the problem, I would recommend you have contact with Sony service centre.
Last trial before you go ahead for repair, is to clean the laser lens, check after market for CD/DVD lens cleaner, prefered type is the one which have disc with fine tiny brushs.
Have a good day

Already said that!:smileywink:
That is great it is nice to share info
In General, it is a headache to diagnosis a problem with DVD player, DVD recorder and Blu ray. Once you decide to buy any brand name unit then you should be ready to face a problem in a day sooner or later. Either its laser diode power diminished over usage time, misalignment/calibration, incompatibility between discs manufacturers and your device. Somehow it is a technology matter.
