Hi
I have a Sony BDP S480 blu ray player. I also have a 2 TB Seagate external hard drive..
If I play movie file from my home network, they play no problem but 'stutter', due to network latency I assume.
I have tranferred them to my external hard drive and connected the drive to the Blu-Ray player via USB.
I can see the files with no problems.
But, when I try to play them the majority give a message about invalid file or unsupported audio.
They either play with no sound or do not play at all.
This is also the case if I plug the drive into the USB port of my TV.
Is there a solution to this problem as I would like to play them from a hard drive.
Best regards
Phil
You'd have to give us more details as to the files you're trying to play.
The output from something like MediaInfo from sourceforge.net would help.
Without knowing what codec and profile was used to encode the files nobody can give you a good answer.
Sony doesn't support mkv (matroska) files! Thru the LAN (wiFi) they may transcoded on the PC with tsMuxer.
