I am reposting this as I received an error on first try.
I recently linked, wirelessly, a camera and mike in a bird box to my Sony system (HXD1070 and Brava TV).to watch and record the development of bluetit 'family'.
While I could see inside the bird box quite clearly, I cound hear no sound.
However, on transfering the video clips to my ASPIRE laptop for editing, I was surprised to find I could hear the sound of the birds!
After editing and producing a composite video, burning it to a DVD, and checking it played OK on the laptop (video and sound), I inserted it into the HXD1070 to watch the complete video.
Unfortunately, once again there was no sound.
To be absolutely accurate, in an early scene the female bird pecks the side of the box very hard (and quite loudly on the ASPIRE). If I turn the TV volume to max I can just hear a very very faint tapping. For all other sounds there is nothing.
Don't know if this is relavant, but the 'Pinnacle Studio 12' software I use for video editing has three options for audio compression
1 - MPA (MPEG-1 Layer 2)
2 - PCM
3 - Dolbyb(r) Digital 2 chanel
I have burnt the DVD using all three, but it makes no difference.
Lastly ordinary DVDs of films play fine.
Anyone any suggestion on how to resolve this problem?
I experienced the same problme with a sony camera connected via firewire to the hxd. The problem was related to the fact that the camera can trasfer the audio from two different tracks (with different mix) and you have to set in the hxd (external audio input) from which channel you want to record.
But you are saying that it doesn't work also when transferred to a dvd, so it's different. Maybe it's a codec not supported...
OK - thanks for your suggestion..
