i turned off my video cassette recorder/dvd recorder whilst on holiday and now my system menu will not work,can you help ?

have you re set the clock on the unit?, you did not say if its a combo or two separate units, if theres a reset try that as well, but a model number for your unit would help us more.
Kindly advise, Do you have Sony products? What model numbers?
