How to update firmware for RDR-HXD790 recorder??

Having downloaded the latest firmware update for the above recorder, sr08S124.mem, how in heavens name am I supposed to burn it to disc when I have not been able to find the appropiate programme to achieve this, without having to buy/pay for the priviledge?? Any help/onfo form any source would be most welcome.

You could use ImgBurn, it's free but you can donate, like I did, if you find it useful/like it.  http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download I have an RDR-HXD870 and am trying to do the same but...having burnt two discs, the player gets to the DISC-DWLD part opens and shuts the tray then powers off...no update

You have to finalize the cd otherwise the recorder will not recognise the cd and although Imgburn is suppose to finalize the cd automaticlly it did not for me. Try other burning software. I used Burnaware and finalize the cd using the options at the top of the Buraware user interface. The update then worked.
