DVD Recorder RDR-HXD710

Evening all

My 2 questions are , I have the above and for the past few months it's being doing two really annoying things.

1) Giving the program your tapeing the wronge title eg the program title before

2) Not stopping when it should, I have to stop it manualy sometimes even recording a 30 min program for 7 hours. So unless I watch it quick then its taking all the space of the recorder.

Any advice please, I have tryed retuneing but that did not work

Thank you inadvance

No answer I'm afraid but certainly have starting having the second problem recently.  Not at all sure why since I turned auto update off ages ago (to solve a problem which I can't remember) so shouldn't be a firmware issue.

Hi Chris

I am useing the Sky+ these days as the problems I am having with the hard drive recorder are still happening.

I returned the stations but still happening. Also are you saying the Auto update should be off?

Hi

I am having the same problems on my HDD recorder (HXD710) as you seem to be having.  It has been doing this for years.  The recorder/playback still works fine, but you have to check each recording to see if it has overrun the stop time.  Maybe SONY can check this post and reply.

I have looked for new firmware, but there doesn't seem to be any available, and I think this may be delivered automatically.  I too have switched the auto-update off, but maybe I'll try it back on again to see if that helps.

I have retuned the the stations, and also checked the time is ok (it updates automatically at BST/GMT etc), so that seems ok.  I have not had power failures.

The only other thing the recorder does is sometimes lock up and not respond to any buttons.  Mostly it comes back eventually, but I have had to reboot it on some occassions, and then it says 'recovery' which is ok I think (ie normal activity for such a situation).

Any suggestions, apart from scrapping it for a newer one!!

Thx

Paul
