DVD HDD recorder fault

After setting to record a program using the program guide, just prior to the start of the program, "TIMER RDY" is correctly displayed.

But then this freezes, the screen remains blank and nothing is recorded.

If I am around at the time, I then have to feverishly "stop recording" and use the quick record feature.

Is my timer goosed ?

In desparation, I just went into set-up and re-tuned the stations.

It hasn't missed since.
