Hi All
I have a BDP-S570 connected via wifi to a DLNA server running on my computer (iMac). OK for video in just about any format but when I navigate to the photo folder the player says there is nothing to display. All the photos are JPG which is the supported file type. Also no joy trying a USB flash drive on the front input.
Any ideas anyone?
thanks
John
Solved! Go to Solution.
One of my biggest frustrations about Sony DLNA. Exactly the same on PS3!
it will only view photos if you navigate down from the photos heading at main menu level in the XMB. It is a bit confusing that you can navigate down from, say, music, and it will display a photos heading at the next level down but then it won't actually view them.
As Wetsleet, says, you need to go to the top sony menu, "photo", next to " setup", and your dlna drive should be there with photos in.If not, you do indeed have a problem!

Thanks to everyone. Photo's are indeed working as described. My last remaining problem is being an idiot.
cheers

Hi John
I am just about to buy the s580 (same as s570 + wifi) and a sony tv (46ex200) but i got stopped in my tracks by some posts on other forums saying that sony dont support loads of video file formats over dlna streaming.
I have a bunch of .AVIs and some stuff ripped from handbrake in .m4v as well as some legacy .mpg files.
Did you have experience in playing any of these file types? In particular .m4vs? Dont want to go to the hassle of buying and setting it all up (I also have to buy a synology nas..) to find that it doesnt work.
Thanks
