BDP-S480 3d output

I have a bdp-s480 player connected to a samsung d8000 3d tv via a denon AV amp. When I try and play a 3d disk the player says it cannot detect a 3d screen and defaults to 2d and I cannot get it to output in 3d. How can I sollve this??

Have you updated the firmware on the device recently? That may well fix it. Details in the Smart TV FAQ on the front page of this forum.

Yep updated the firmware on both the amp and the player still no joy

Does your amp support 3D pass through? Otherwise it won't work.. Does it work if you plug the Blu-ray directly into the TV? If it does then its your Amp's lack of pass through..

Your right and wrong! It is the amp - in that the player woirks when direct fed to the TV - BUT the amp will pass HI def 3d pictures from sky straight through with out issue. So it looks like the player is looking for a return signal which it does not get via the amp.

I can fudge a solution by feeding the player into the tv then putting the tv optical audio op back to the amp but its not ideal.

i have the same problem but with a sony amp.

sky 3d works fine but blu rays report 3d cant be played there must be a way round this?
