there is no mention of the iPod touch 4gen in the RDP-X50iP user guide..
However when I was looking to buy a Speaker Dock I went to my nearest store & placed my iPod into the docking tray and checked it worked before I made the purchase because it only stated in the specs that it was compatible with the iPod touch 3 no mention of the 4
May be worth you trying the same, but the choice on wether to buy or not will have to be yours at the end of the day..
