I have a large number of 8mm cassettes which I can no longer access as my cam does not work I have looked for a player such as GV-D800 but nothing seems to be available as the system is no longer used. Can anyone suggest anything that will allow me to play these cassettes. I live in Ireland.

Have you considered getting the camera repaired then digitizing those tapes so you can back them up?

It may be more cost efficient to buy a suitable camera on eBay. There is a good selection available for around £20 to £30.
