Sony KD-55AF9 connecting external active speakers

Hi all,

I have Genelec active speakers (powered) and I want to use them for audio for my TV.
for now I have two for left and right, but in few weeks I will get the rest, Subwoofer and surround speaker, and they are all powered.

How can I connect them?

There are the normal expensive external AV amplifiers, but they all have passive speakers output.
I found on Amazon few decoders, with optical or HDMI input, and 6 non powered RCA output, which should suit my need, except for some drawbacks, but the reviews for them are not promising.

anyone have a solution for this?

Hi khaeid2,

I'll just see if I can find any help regarding this. In the meantime though, maybe another community member might have some ideas.

Thanks,

Pascale

Thank you for answering,

1- I am checking other forums, did not find one good enough yet

2- I used Optical audio output

3- I cannot change level of Optical Audio Output using normal mail volume control

4- I do not have the option of Headphones Fixed/Variant in my TV menu

5- I could access the Headphone menu using Tasker, but had no effect and changed I make there do not stick

6- the only way to change volume is in changing the digital output level. buried under so many clicks to reach it, which is inconvenient.

7- I am trying to access Digital output level page using Tasker, or control it directly by tasker, but I cannot find the correct address to it, or the page name

Hi Khaeid2,

Is there a sound bar or an amplifier connected? I don't think you can connect all of the speakers directly to the TV.

Cheers,

No, not AV receiver nor soundbar,

I am using the Optical output of the TV, connected to a simple decoder Optical/Analogue, it gives me normal RCA analogue output, I connect them to my Genelec speakers who have nternal power amplifier for each speaker, but without level, so I need to connect the output level of the TV Optical output

Hi khaeid2,

Have you looked at any of the amplifiers made by Sony as an option? Maybe something like this:
