No DTS sound when playing from USB connection

Having the Sony AF8 Android Tv I do not get any sound, when playing a video with DTS sound from an external USB connected disc.
I use the optical output to a SONOS soundbar.
There are no issues with Dolby Digital.

There la no support for dts over optical. Only via hdmi arc.

Why would you say that? I haven‘t tried DTS via optical. But it doesn‘t sound logical that it only works via ARC.
