Hi, hopefully someone can help here,
i have an :KD-55XD8577 and when i press the Home button on remote, the screen fades / blacks out, but nothing loads. to access the settings i have to go via the help screen. i have tried a few other remedies from here, like ensureing HDMI control on the sky box is OFF, and also bravia sync is off, and i also cleared the data / cache in apps-system update, but still no joy. before i do a factory reset is there anything else? also, if i do a reset, will i have to change the input settings back to 4K enhanced etc again and will it delete any apps and such?
thanks
Lee
Hi Xenothon,
I've had a look at the Support page of your BRAVIA and I couldn't find any other specific suggestions either, although you can find some general troubleshooting tips for remote controls here.
I'm not sure about input settings and apps, but if you do opt to go for the factory reset you can find more information about that here and here.
You can always get in touch with Sony Support as well, via this contact form.
Best,
Arthur
thought i would update on issue. Yes a factory data reset seems to have solved the problem. but i find it a bit lame that its taken that to sort it. ive had to reload all my other programmes again. and i still get errors regarding certain sony programmes that have become unresponsive.
poor show from an £900 TV!
Glad to hear it's been of some help at least, Lee. If I were you I'd use the contact form to ask the support centre about this, they might still have some suggestions for you.

Hi @xenothon I had the same issue with my KD-55XD9305. A simple and quick telephone call to Sony Support sorted it with a special sequence from the remote (didn't make a note of the sequence). No need for a factory reset.
