Ok.
So im having a very frustrating issue with 3D not being available in a downloaded app.
I have subscriptions to apps that provide 3d movies and programmes however using multiple work arounds i can not get my tv into 3d stereoscopic mode.
Im not a happy sony customer anyway as my tv was very expensive and they seem to be restricting access to apps with every update.
I have used the sideloader app (pressing the 3d button) and also an old remote with a 3d button on. None of these are working.
Please help me out. I feel like just smashing up the tv and getting an LG or Samsung to save this hassle.
Cheers

Hi @loufero
What is the full model number of your TV? You should note that the vast majority of TV manufacturers (not just Sony) stopped including 3D processing in 2016/17. Please let us know the full model number and we can let you know if 3D is supported.
Hi
I have a KD-55XD9305
I have tried to factory reset this aswell, at first i could watch any channel in 3D or using an APP (e.g. kodi, amazon prime etc) which played in 3d perfectly finely. I understand that this has been discontinued from Sony TV's (as its now a dead technology)...but why push out a firmware updates that remove this from working on anything than a native 3D input such as a Blueray player etc?
It appears that only when a "device" sends a 3D signal is it recognised. I have a standard app that plays in stereoscopic side by side image, but there is no way to force the TV into the 3d mode. Please help!

Hi @loufero. I used to watch 3D sourced from Sky on a KD-55XD9305 until it was replaced by a KD-55XE9305 after it decided to go the way most XD93’s go. As this is a customer to customer forum you are unlikely to get an answer here. Best to contact Sony direct https://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/Contact/Email?pdp=kd-55xd9305&cat=lcd-tvs-android-xd93xx_x...
Thanks for the response. Its appreciated. I have been speaking to Sony directly for a number of other reasons so will add this to the list.
Cheers.
RIP 3d...shame its not just an open feature with simple on off implementation.
