SONY NEX 5R

Hi Guys,

I have a sony nex 5R camera with 18-55mm lens. I was wondering if I can shoot short movies (30fps) with this camera? or do you have any other suggestions for me? Like should I get a different camera or lens?

Hi there,

Welcome to the Sony Community. 

I've had a look through the manual to try find more details on this, but unfortunately it doesn't say if it's possible to shoot in 30fps.  There is only info on page 29 of the manual on 'Recording movies'. You can find more details here.

Perhaps another community member may be able to answer your query.

Hi @akymovies,

well, according to this PDF (which reads NEX-5T at the top) you need to set "MENU -> [Image Size] -> [File Format]" to MP4 and thereafter movies will be recorded at "about 30 frames/second".
