Unable to clear phone notifications

My phone (Xperia 5)  notifications are turned on all times. I am unable to clear it. Doesn't affect the performance but a bit annoying. I have restarted the phone and turned the notifications off and on but nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if it is new or perhaps I did not notice it earlier but Nearby Places is available ala Nexus, Android One and Pixel Devices

Hi, 

This is not simply an Xperia 5 issue, I have an Xperia 5 and don't have the problem at all, however my other half has just got an Xperia 5 and is having this problem (since he got the phone the other day).

The only difference between us, is my last phone broke and I didn't move much over from it, and he had his phone unlocked after purchase but mine was unlocked before purchase.
