Sony 1 VII IMEI Check/product Authenticity

Hi everyone,

I just purchased a Sony 1 VII and I would like to know if there is a way to verify the IMEI to know if the product is original or not. The box has no seal and inside is only a small piece of paper with Sony info, not the usual bundle of papers. Maybe Sony has changed now the type of packaging but if you of anyway to check the authenticity of a product, please advise. Thank you, Andra

Unlock bootloader | Developer World

Here you can request a bootloader unlock in the Sony Developer World and it requires you to insert the IMEI. If the website recogizes the IMEI then there is a good chance you are holding an original in your hand.

Hint: you don't have to go through with the entire unlock bootloader process, just the first step that gives you the unlock code after inserting thr IMEI.
