Hello.

Can anyone tell me, I have a Sony STR-dn1040 receiver that is capable of passing through a 4K signal. Can it also pass through the 4K HDR signal?

I believe that HDR requires the equipment used to be HDMI 2.0a compliant.

The STR-DN1040 literature is incredibly coy about what level of HDMI it supports; we may deduce from the list of supported formats that it supports 2.0, but I cannot actually find 2.0, let alone 2.0a, mentioned anywhere.

Best try it and see, I think.

Hi there

Just to butt in here, from memory only the STR-DN1070 (2016 AV Receiver) can pass-through HDR.
