IR sensor broken on TV - how to obatin a replacement

The IR sesnor on my 3 year old Sony TV - Bravia KDL-40W4000 has stopped working.

I have done all the ususal checks such as putting new batteries in the handset and checking it is emitting some sort of signal.

The Sky TV handset I have also works fine to change the sky channel via the sky+box but no longer works the volume on the TV (it did prior to this fault arising) and so this strongly points to IR sensor failure.

Checking the web seems to suggest this is a faiy common issue.

How do I obtain a replacement as a check on the web hasn't turned up anything?
