KDL-32WD756 very unreliable - remote unresponsive until power cylcing

I have had a KDL-32WD756 for nearly a year and I have had a lot of trouble with it, seemingly more frequently now than before.

I usually use it with a FireTV stick, as the smart features of the television itself are quite useless. However, very often the remote control cannot be used to control it and I cannot turn it off. Only turning it off using the hardware button at the back or cutting power and turning it on again solves its unresponsiveness.

Is there anything I can do about this, or is this model known for its unreliability?

Do you have the latest software version installed on it (v8.229)?

Hi, thanks for answering. No, I seen to have 8.219-1000-1.330-01.

I see that there is a way to update it using a USB flash drive. I don't have a spare one to hand at the moment, but I could get one. Is it possible to update it through wifi? The wifi seems to be quite unreliable though.

EDIT: Doesn't matter, it seems to be the only way. I will remove files from my flash drive and update it. Thanks for your help.

Hi, you can update it manually using a USB stick. Download the file on an empty USB and then plug it and it will start updating.
