KDL-47W805A does not decrypt encrypted sat channels after firmware upgrade.

I have a KDL-47W805A and a sat pay-tv subscription that I use in the TV with an Irdeto CAM and the pay-tv provider’s smartcard.

This system has been working up until recently when the TV firmware was upgraded to PKG4.001EUA.

The encrypted channels cannot be decrypted any more.

The non-encrypted sat channels work fine. The pay-tv programs recorded earlier play fine from the external HD that I also have attached to the TV.

I called the pay-tv provider’s support and they said my subscription is valid and should be working fine.

They reset the card from their end to no avail.

I also did a full factory reset on the TV (losing all the channel programming) but that didn’t help either.

Now I’m stuck, paying for the sat TV that I can’t watch on my Sony TV.

If it all worked before the FW update, and as you said you have done a factory reset, I dont believe that this community forum can really assist you much further. I think you would be best to contact Sony Support : HERE
