They both work fine - except for one irritating thing. If I turn on the TV, then the recorder, a loud vibration-type noise comes from the TV. I should point out tha nothing is actually vibtating - it's just a very rapid alternating noise. If I'm playing a DVD, for instance, the noise continues until the DVD process starts.
