Dear all,

I'd like to use my Xperia S as media player in classrooms, where we have just VGA Beamer. With the Tablet, I bought the HDMI Cable as well in order to connect the Beamers via HDMI->VGA Connector. I already tried two different ones, but they don't work. This is what happens when I test it with my Monitor, which has both HDMI and VGA Input:

HDMI: On the lower right corner of the screen, a HDMI icon appears and the screen displays the picture just fine.
VGA: When I plug the HDMI-VGA Converter into the Cable, no icon appears and screen stays dark...

It seems, that the Tablet tries to identify the HDMI Display Capabilities but doesn't get proper answer - and hence doesn't switch HDMI on.

My questions:

- Does anyone know a HDMI->VGA Converter which works with the Xperia S Tablet ?

- Can this issue be worked around with a SW Patch ?

Or is there a portable way to do Media Streaming via DLNA to a VGA Screen/Beamer?
