S1 Button not working

hi there i'm new to these boards i wanted to ask u something.
my s1 button has not been working as of lately...but it's weird...
the s1 button activates stand by and hibernation....but when i choose to start an application it simply does not start it....it's already worked before...i've disabled a few system services...i have a vaio a497xp so it's quite a powerful system but hey i don't like going around and wasting system resources=P...so i was wondering if it prob had anything to do with one or two services....thx for the help guys

Welcome to the Forum

You could try clicking the S icon on your system tray and have a look to see where the S key is pointing. You should be able to reasign it from there.

If you don't have an S icon in your system tray you could see if it loads by double clicking on the Utils icon in C:/Utils. Then go through the above process after your machine reboots.

Well i've tried to search for a utils folder in my main drive but to no avail....probably i don't have the same software version?
