Change port settings on docking station

I have a new VGN-BX195VP notebook with a VGP-PRBX1 docking station. When connected I can hook up to a printer on the paralell port of the docking station with no problem, but when I try to connect a Tachograph scanner to the paralell port it will not find it. All of the hardware works on my old Toshiba, so there is no problem with any of it. It appears that I need to change the port settings to EPP or ECP, PLEASE could someone tell me how to do it????:smileytired:

Hi Splinterwood and welcome to ClubVaio.

It's bad news I'm afraid. The port on all of the Sony Port Replicators is a printer port only - it is not a parallel port.

Thanks for the bad news on my port replicator, once again the unknowing has been had by the experienced shop keeper!!!
At least now I can look for another alternative.

Something like THIS PCMCIA CARD is probably the answer - bit expensive though!

:smileygrin: Many many thanks. Although the card is not cheap it is worth every penny to me, it was the only thing getting my business fully up and running.
