I'm not much of a bluetooth expert, but is the phone dialing the number out or is it from Windows? Also check it's dialing the right device, you don't want it to use the 56k modem

I have a VGN-SZ2HP and sometimes need to use a dial up account for internet connection when I am out and about. It works if I use a landline, but I cannot get it to work on my mobile via bluetooth. It pairs up ok and dials, but will not connect - I keep getting error 678. I'm thinking it must be my modem settings but cannot figure out what.

Can anyone help me please!

Thank you

Error 678 means there's no answer.
I would check your phone provider's site for the settings.

Thanks for the reply - that's what I thought, but if I ring the number I get the modem sound and it works if I plug it into my landline. I've also tried another ISP with a different phone number and get the same message - it all points to some settings on the phone or the computer, but I'm going round and round in circles trying to sort it out.

Any ideas?
