    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;thnx for your responce Chris  not what i wanted to hear,  is Sony that much of a nightmare ? We do have statatory rights in this country as consumers last time i looked... In fact ,if im not mistaken, the normal manufactors warrantee on items like the pocket should be 2 years and not 1.   If Sony customer care is such a nightmare ive got a challenge on my hands, I intend to follow and persue this matter further with consumer affairs and see if they take an interest to question Sony on its consumer ethiics  anyhow , ill keep u posted on any progress if any..       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; imo the only time yor VP will break is if you drop it!! saying that I have an NW-HD1 that has met concrete more than once and he's fine, Sony walkmans are seriously built to last, I still have the bright yellow sports walkman cassete player, works fine to this day!!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A warranty for the VP will probably be £50 - £70, and it may not cover accidental damage!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it was a laptop maybe, but the cost of the warranty is just not worth it, considering the initial purchase price! &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;C&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For cool avatars look here &lt;A href="http://www.bestanimations.com" target="_blank"&gt;Best Animations&lt;/A&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;C&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
