Hi all, long time listener first time caller.

My Vaio has always been ok, when i first got it (about 18 months ago) i put a stack of songs on it, used it a few times, then put it in a drawer and forgot about it.

Then today I dug it out, put a heap of cds onto sonic stage ready to transfer over, but when i went to the transfer screen its telling me 'device/media not connected' when it quite clearly is, the rest of my computer is acknowledging it, i get the little 'bong' noise when i connect it and i'm getting the data transfer screen on the player.

Am i missing an upgrade or something?

I am going on a long lonely trip very soon and could really do with my vaio to keep me company.:smileycry:

it is a long shot, but if you have only just taken your player out of the draw after not using it for a long period of time, has the battery run flat? have you tried leaving it to recharge and then see if it will transfer?

Ah ha, I solved the riddle, but thanks for the effort Mr Microbat.

I installed the latest sonicstage (ver 3.4), then I was info'd I had to wipe the HDD of my player as it wasn't compatible (not too much off an issue for me because I planned to anyway, if anyone else with tonnes of stuff had to do that I can imagine they would be none too happy!!), and now it works like a charm.

I'm still dead chuffed with it after all this time and am still happy I opted for this little beauty over the Ipod.
