Have you tried changing the screen resolution on your Vaio. If it is a widescreen Trinitron, try 1024 X 768.

I have the above Desktop connected to a Sony Triniton TV and it works great with one exception.....

..... I can't "map" the screen size from the Desktop onto the TV i.e. the screen is effectivell too big for the TV so that I lose the image around the border, so for example if I can see the browser toolbar on the top of the TV screen I can't see the windows "Start" toolbar at the bottom. I can use the mouse to drag the active screen around on the TV, but would prefer to have it so that the TV just replicated the actual desktop screen 100%.

Any sugestions? Thanks in advance

i think i must have confused you. i am not watching the tv on the pc. i have the pc onnected to the tv so that the tv mirrors what i have on my screen on the pc.

the problem is that the pc image seems to large for the tv screen so i am not getting a 100% mapping of the image, so if for example i can see the start menu toolbar at the bottom of the tv screen i wouldn't be able to see the browser toolbar at the top (for example).

looking at the tv screen if i move the mouse to the extremeties of the screen on the tv i can move the pc image around, so it is as if i need to shring the image to fit the tv

thanks
