This seems to survive a complete PC rebuild as well so it has to be linked to the drive microcode.<BR /><BR />For most domestic DVDs the de-regionalisation is either built into the appliance or is an additional ROM that allows the other region settings to be invoked. <BR /><BR />There are programs on the web that may or may not give you the option to run region-free but my advice is to be very careful.
