So I made a backup on my external and deleted the administrator user, then made a new account. During the transfer to my external there were programs that could'nt be transferred because they werent shut down. These of course essential programs for my laptop to run optimal - they are now gone!

Brightness Control, webcam, Microsoft programs, PDF reading, finger print reader and games are things that have been lost / not working / or not functioning optimally. I'm now looking for a solution that can restore the computer to which it was when I bought it.

Please help!

cheers

Lasse

Hi Lasse,

I'm not familiar with your model but chances are it has an Assist button above the keyboard. When fully shut down press this to launch the Vaio Care Rescue utility.

In the absence of an Assist button press and hold F10 at boot to start the recovery utility.

Rich
