All,

I am having a problem, with my laptop, just started.

So all was working fine until the battery ran out when it was switched on - wont go back on again - with power or the other battery.

All that happens

1. Orange light shows lit on front when charger connected or battery (battery charges OK)

2. Green power button shows lit

3.Fan and HDD whir all ok

4. on press of power button all 3 lights (num, caps, scroll) flash once.

5. nothing showing on screen

6. nothing showing when connected to a monitor

7. have also left battery out for 2 days to fully de-charge board

Any ideas ?? any other checks i can do ?

Im having the same problem too. PC seems to start up normally, but screen remains black

I can get it working by doing the following

- keep it switched on and let the battery run out - leave for 12 hours so the main board fully discharges

- take out HDD and put it back in

- put battery back and put lower cabel in for 10 mins

- then switch on

I have discovered that when laptop is on it works fine. The problem is "sleep" mode. I can shutdown/restart and can come out of screen power down mode. The problem is when the HDD goes into sleep - its difficult to get it back out of it.

Its either a HDD hardware prob or a software prob. So I will tru and get it back up running tonight and do a full fresh install of win 7
