Where can I download a manual for my new vaio SVS15?

Also how can I keep the backlights on bright whilst charging?

Hi milmead,

You can download manuals for your model from the Support Page. Click on 'Support' at the top of this page -> 'Online Support' and enter your Vaio model into the search box. This will take you to the support pages for your Vaio.

The User Guide is usually preinstalled though - so you shouldn't have to download it. Try putting 'Manual' or 'Use Guide' into the search box for all programs.

I presume you are using Windows 8 and do not want the screen to turn off when using mains power? You need to change the Power Management settings - have a look at this tutorial:

Thank you so very much for your help, The backlight problem now resolved. The manual link keeps saying it is not there and to try again soon! Is it possible for someone to post me a working link for windows 8? I really do appreciate your efforts.

Hi Marilyn.

There has been a problem with the Sony Europe download servers recently - try again tomorrow and see if it works.

As a temporary measure, you could try downloading the User Guide for a similar model from the Sony USA website - but just be aware some features may be a little different:

Try the 'Vaio User Guide - (printable Version)' - it will take a bit longer to download from the USA!
