Should I upgrade my VPCEE1E2E ram and processor?

I was recently thinking of buying a new laptop because my current laptop is struggling with its low speed and poor graphics, I was going to buy either a Genesis IV 15.6 inch laptop or an Optimus series IV 17.3 inch laptop. Both these laptops are specific to my needs and I am a gamer, so I will need a good ram and processor and a good graphics card, but is it worth buying a new 8GB ram and a faster processor to cope with my games on my Sony Vaio laptop? Or should I just buy a new laptop which is specifically used for gaming? but these would cost 500-700 pounds...

Yeah it is a VPCEE2E1E, and my mum got it for me ages ago without proper consultation, and it's quite annoying because I could have gotten a really good gaming laptop in 2009 and not have had to get another laptop, but it has served me quite well, apart from crashing countless times during games
