Sony VAIO SVF1421E2E hard drive fail. Windows licence key???

I bought this second hand but in great working condition a while ago, however the hard drive seems to have failed, when I power on, all i get is caps lock and num lock flash once and the hard drive clicks once, then it keeps doing the same, caps lock, num lock, hard drive click etc etc

if i replace the hard drive how can i reinstall windows 8 without my licence key as it isnt anywhere on the laptop??

In Windows 8 devices (PC) the key is in the BIOS, when you install the OS (need a Official OS DVD of same preinstalled OS version) it read itself the Key...
