Have you tried giving the battery a full charge, then going into Battery Information>Advanced, and comparing the design capacity against full charge capacity. With a fairly new battery, there shouldn't be too much difference between the figures. If there is, sounds like a charging/battery fault.

I'm sorry to post this in this topic, but why can't I start a new thread? I can get a previuew and everything looks ok, but when I want to post the thread I get an error msg saying "null" ???

Here's my problem, I'll remove it as soon as I find out how I can start a new thread.

"Hi everyone,

I own a Vaio fr415m, I haven't had any regrets so far of spending all my savings on this great notebook, but yesterday I noticed that whenever I minimise or maximise a window, that the notebook makes a high tone beeping sound. It's a faint sound but still anoying.
I don't think it's coming from the boxes because changing volume doesn't affect the volume of that tone, and when I turn these boxes off completely, the beeping sound is still there.
Can anyone perhaps tell me what's causing this sound and maybe how I can get it to go haunt someone else's pc.

Thanks in advance,
kind regards"

Hi,
I think your problem is not normal. Actual batteries should not suffer anymore of the problem they had 10 years ago with the remanent power staying in a non completely dischrged battery. But there is a way to hold your battery longer. When you use your laptop with the power supply (home for ex.) retire the battery-block as the battery is fully loaded. The battery will not be in constant charge and should last longer ! (This was proposed for laptop users some years ago. I don't know if there has been some changes in the disconnecting system of charged batteries in the newer laptops) There is no costs trying !
