PCG-K115B Reebots & screen just goes all white gradually

Hi
I have a Vaio PCG-K115B with a Notebook adapter WPC54-G (linksys) card and a linksys Router WRT54G .

My problem is that the laptop just keeps rebooting, it does not do this all the time sometimes i leave it on and it will reobbot when i come back. Other times whilts using the PCG-K115B the screen will all go white and have lines faintly down it. Then it totally locks up until all the csreen is white and you cannot do anything apart from powering it off.

I have loaded the new Bios as Sony recommends and i have even had the machine sent back to Sonys Vaio service centre in Belguim they could not find any problems, I thought it may have a been amemory problem. I did not send the notebook adapter card with it when it went to Sony, I have even spoken to Linksys about my wireless setup and that all seems ok. I am getting really troubled at what could be causing these two problems to happen. I bought it from Ebuyer who say that you have to speak to Sony direct !!! I dont think that they have the right attitude for the consumer in mind !!!

Can anyone please help me i would be very greatful.

Sounds like a serious hardware issue with the screen going white. Not good at all

eBuyer are a good retailer, and all retailers tell you to speak to Sony no matter where you buy it.

I'm absolutely mystified by Sony in Belgium. I don't know how many people I've seen say on this forum that they've sent their computers off for weeks only for the techies to say theres nothing wrong with it. Laptop exploded? Nothing wrong. DVD drive flings DVD's across the room at high speed? Nothing wrong. Monitor gets up and raids the fridge while you're asleep? Nah, thats normal. Incredible.

But yeah it's not eBuyers fault, it should be down to Sony, God knows why they can't find anything wrong. Best bet is to grab a digital camera and snap the screen when it's gone white, then send the picture along when it goes in for service. They can't possibly say theres nothing wrong then...

I think they're on a Stella diet, and everything seems normal to them because they're so p**sed

Yeah, good idea methinks yes :smileygrin:. If at least one regular poster from each part of the forum adds it into their signature then there shouldn't be so many repeat posts.

by the way i totally agree. In my past month on this forum, i keep reading stories of peoplegetting stressed out after sending their laptop to sony..and them sending it back saying theirs nothing wrong with it! i think theyre basically fed up of seeing the k series and its flaws

everytime i read a k series horror post, i take a look at mine and wonder whens it my turn..

off topic I guess but I used to wonder when my GRX would develop the dreaded memory slot problem, and yes it did eventually.
