I followed the instructions and ... it didn't work.
I returned it, bringing my AGN A115M allong to finally buy a mouse that is working. But every mouse in the store could not be installed (the driver installed itself, but the mouse was not working!!!).
After I returned from the store I deinstalled all of the drivers in the "Device Manager" several times. I even deinstalled all USB drivers and everything that had to do with USB (Root...etc.) I even installed the preinstalled USB-Mouse Driver (the one from sony of the Drivers and Patch page)
I was not able to get the mouse going!!!
After I installed the mouse I was not able to find the Mouse in the Setting of "Mouse" in the windows control panel (i don't have the right translation, sorry!)
I either need professional help with my hardware or with my mind!!!
Thanks for any suggestion!

By the way...
WinXP Home, ServPack 2, every Update you can get, every patch you can get (from Sony and MS)
The mouse is a Hama Optical Mouse AM 1000, but as I wrote non of the tested ones worked (MS, Logitech etc.)
Best Regards

Stephan

In theory you should not install any packaged drivers included with any mouse as they can mess up your touch pad, especially those that come with fancy software like Logitech.

Assuming there are no exclamation marks now or before you unistalled them in System Properties I would expect any self respecting mouse to spring to life as soon as its plugged into any USB port.

Assuming you have more than one, have you tried others on your machine?

Have you anything else that is USB that you know to work that you can try in your port(s)?

William

If Williams suggestions don't work then try this. Its drastic but it may be your ONLY solution...

1. Backup ALL of your data.
2. Preform a FULL System Recovery (C Drive ONLY)
3. Insert the misbehaving mouse, to auto-install the drivers.

As William says, avoid installing additional mouse software as it can conflict with the Alps/Synaptics Touchpads.

James.
