Wireless Switching Utility Disappeared on VGN-A397XP

Cheers Forum,

it happend right on the first day of usage. Now bluetooth and WLan comes up together when activating the hardware switch, I no longer have the option to toggle between the two.

The wireless switching utility can still be found under installed software, usage is indicated as often.

When switcher.exe is started manually from windows explorer, the process appears for about 2 seconds in running-processes and disappears again (will not come up or is blocked !?).

I removed and reinstalled the tool already; no success. Sony support says: completely reset your notebook (which is not an option).

Anyone having the same issue? Help would be appriciated!

This is an odd problem.

Try reinstalling your utilities software. Look inside C:\Utils and run UTILS.EXE or download the package from VAIO-Link and then install the Utilities.

This should then solve your problem.

Thanks for the advices,

I did that already, to no avail.

It looks as if the function is blocked or collides with other programs.

Any other clues?

Hi

I have spent time on this as the same happened to my VGN-S3XP, the cause of the problem for me was the installation of the Sony Media Patch 4.1. Try removing the patch, failing that a rebuild and not applying the patch
