Hi,

I’ve quite a few mini dv tapes recorded on a Sony HDR HC1 that I want to transfer to a hard drive. Unfortunately I don’t have the original camera. I’ve looked at conversion services but they are just to expensive. I’m looking for recommendations for a used Sony camcorder that will be able to transfer these tapes to my MacBook. I’ve got all the necessary cables, just really confused when it comes to finding what camera will fit my needs. A lot of the Sony HDR cameras on eBay are very high end and a bit overkill for my needs.

You might want to look for a pure player like e.g. GV-D300, GV-D1000.

I’ll take a look at these players. Do you know any reasonable priced Sony HDR camcorders?
