Remote shutter release with RX10 MklV

I have a PixelPro TW-283 remote shutter release which I have used on both my Canon and Fuji cameras but cannot get it to work on my new Rx10 MklV via the micro USB port. Is this port for this sort of thing, remote release?

Can't find any information in the manual about remote release so any help will be appreciated.

I have two remote releases, the one mentioned above and a JJC cable release with a push button on it. Both worked just fine with both my Canon 7D Mkll and my Fuji XT-2 but neither work with the Sony RX10. Guess the cable/plug wiring is different??

I think your guess maybe on point here. Just because the remote shutter release works with one or two cameras doesn't mean all products will be compatible. Especially since third party accessory manufacturers can't possibly comply with all standards.

I have emailed the PixelPro manufacturer to see if they now produce a cable for the RX10, but won't hold my breath as they are in China🤪

Resolved this, there is dedicated cable from the remote receiver to the camera for the RX10 MklV - Part number Pixel DC3.5-S2
